Amanda Akokhia has always dedicated time to charity projects, working with Breast Cancer UK, Sickle Cell Society, Models of Diversity, Project Embrace and Changing Faces, to name a few. In 2020, she was granted the opportunity to organise a pampering day for ten NHS employees, complete with makeovers, lunch, and a professional photograph to remember their efforts during the Covid-19 outbreak.
Amanda recently hosted an exhibition centralised on the perception of beauty amongst people with disabilities and visible differences, with the aim to create awareness and continue the conversation of beauty standards in the world of beauty and fashion advertising. Amanda has showcased a series of images of models from Zebedee Agency and two Inclusivity campaigners. The models have also shared their stories and held an insightful panel discussion at the exhibition, with the goal of raising awareness and continuing the conversation about beauty.
